1944 Hungarian 5 Pengo Currency Bank Note Uang Kertas 5 Lima Pengo Jaman Dulu Dari Negara Hungaria-Hungary Tahun 1944

At one time Hungary’s currency was known as the Pengo and was printed starting in the year 1927 until its demise due to inflation in 1946.  In fact inflation was so rampant there after WWII that the Pengo takes first place as the worst inflationary currency in modern history.

The following are pictures of an 1944 OT (5) Pengo bank note from Hungary.  At the top one will notice the words:  “Vöröshadsereg Parancsnoksága”  which means Red Army Headquarters.  So this bill was printed when the Soviets occupied Hungary during the later part of WWII.  This note is grey with red lettering.  Its condition would be likely very fine as it has some stains on the back but does fold for the most part.
