1892 Canadian 10 Cent Silver Coin

Here the topic at hand will be a 1892 Canadian 10 Cent Silver Coin.  On the front of it we see an image of Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom as well as Ireland and additionally the Empress of India.  She never had a visit to Canada but her son Edward VII did.  This 10 cent coin is made from sterling silver.  There were 520,000 of these minted in the year 1892.

Find the reverse side of this 1892 Canadian 10 Cent Silver Coin in the 2nd picture below.  This coin has seen substantial circulation and looks like a grade of good.

1919 Canadian Quarter

Here we are going to talk about a 1919 Canadian Quarter which is made out of sterling silver 925.  On the front of this coin has an image of King George V of the United Kingdom, British Dominions and Emperor of India.  His reign saw difficult times in WWI as well as more than one political crises in the UK.  The first time he visited Canada was in 1883 (this was before he was King). There were 5.82 million + of these coins struck in 1919.  On the reverse side which can be viewed in the 2nd picture is the reverse of this 1919 Canadian Quarter silver coin which has a royal crown on top of the domination as well as the year.

1943 Newfoundland 5 cents Silver Coin

Here we are going to talk about a 1943 Newfoundland 5 cents silver coin which is viewable in the pictures below.  On the front of it we see an image of King George V, so Newfoundland was part of the British Empire and is part of Canada (who is part of the Commonwealth of Nations).  This coin is made of sterling silver (.925 fineness) and is quite small weighing 1.178 grams.  There were more than 351 thousand of these made in 1943.  Now if you look at the second picture below you’ll see the name of the coin’s country and the denomination of 5 cents.  Also at the bottom is the C mint mark which indicates that this coin was made in Ottawa.

1901 Canada 5 cents Sterling Silver Coin

In this entry we have a 1901 Canada 5 cents sterling silver coin which can be looked at in the photos below.  On its front side is an image of Queen Victoria who presided over the British Empire from 1837 until 1901.  The reverse side has the year, denomination and a crowned reef.  This coin weighs approximately a gram and there were 2 million of them made in 1901 (which was the last year of this design).  It is a nice coin for collectors to handle and appears to be in very good grade.

1966 Canada Silver Dollar

Here we are going to talk about a really nice 1966 Canada silver 1 dollar coin.  On its obverse is a design featuring Queen Elizabeth II with royal tiara.  The back has a scene of travelers inside of a voyageur canoe with the date below and the denomination below that.  This coin is 80% silver and has .6 ounce of the precious metal in it.  This was the 2nd to the last year that these were made for circulation.

Take a look at our 1966 Canadian silver dollar in the photos underneath.  Its condition is at least almost uncirculated and it still has very nice mint luster.

1971 Silver Canadian Dollar Coin (British Columbia)

This page is regarding a 1971 Canadian silver dollar specimen that can be viewed by checking out the images at the bottom.   This coin was made specifically for those with a collecting interest which is apparent in the fact that it is contained in a leather bound holder.  It is 50 percent silver and has precisely .3750 ounces (or 10.631 grams) of the precious metal in it.  This coin is a British Columbia edition which is noted on the holder and has on its obverse the current Queen of Great Britain: Elizabeth II.  There were in fact only 585 thousand of these minted in 1971.  If you are interested in purchasing it email us at butikmewah@gmail.com

Canadian coinage has had an interesting history;  it had its first official examples made in 1858 and there were 4 denomination.  They were a bronze composed 1 cent piece and silver 5, 10 and 20 cents. Prior to that US and British coins were used.  The first dollar was initiated in 1935 in the form of the Voyageur.

1958 Canadian Silver 10 Cents Dime Coin

Below we have photographs of a 1958 Canadian 10 cent coin that we have.  It is rather small only weighing in total 2.31 grams.  It is 80 percent silver having a total of .0594 ounces or 1.6839 grams of the precious metal.  The front was designed by Mary Gllick.  On its obverse is Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom and head of the Commonwealth.  Her reign started in 1952 after King George the VI (her father) passed away.

The reverse side of this Canadian 10 cent silver coin is an image of a sail boat and the denomination.  This image was created by Emanuel Hahn.  This coin would grade fine and the details are still sharp.  Its not perfect as there appears to be a scatch and dirt on the back but nevertheless its a good small form of silver.

The Canadian dime or ten cent coin has been around since the year 1858 and is still struck by their mint today.  Today it is composed mainly of steel but for a number of earlier years up until 1968 they had silver in them.  1968 saw the use of the precious metal in some examples and nickel in others.

See our 1950 Canada 10 cent silver coin in the pictures following.  On its front is an image of King George VI of the British Empire with his name as well as Dei Gracia Rex (by the grace of God).  This coin’s back has a sail boat or schooner plus the year it was produced.  This example is in fine condition and is 80 percent or has .06 ounces (1.7 grams) of silver in its composition.

1958 Canadian Silver Dollar Coin

The following are pictures of a 1958 Canadian Silver Dollar coin that we have.  On its obverse is Queen Elizabeth II and on the back is a totem pole as well as the years commemorating the centennial of British Columbia.  This coin is 80 percent silver and contains .6 ounces of the precious metal.  Though not perfect this 1958 Canadian Silver Dollar Coin  could be considered extra fine.

The Canadian silver dollar got its start in the year 1935 to celebrate King George the fifth’s (of the British Empire) 25th anniversary.  It contained the precious metal until 1967.  This coin was struck until the year 1986 (though it was nickel starting in 1968) and the following year (1987) was replaced by the current Canadian dollar known as the Loonie.

1957 Canada Silver Quarter Coin Koin Perak Kuno 25 Dua Puluh Lima Cent Dari Negara Kanada

The Canadian quarter struck in 1957 is composed of 80 percent silver with it having .1500 ounces of the precious metal.  On its front is the Queen Elizabeth the Second of the United Kingdom and Commonwealth countries.  Notice the words on the obverse Dei Gracia Regina which means By the grace of God, Queen.  On the back of this silver coin is a picture of the animal known as the caribou, which is in the deer family is generally occupies colder climates.   There were 12.7 million of these struck.

The following are photos of a 1957 silver Canadian quarter dollar (25 cent piece).  It has seen a lot of use therefore would be a low good grade.
