This is a 1932 7 Cents Stamp George Washington Commemorative Scott # 712. It commemorates 200 years since the birth of George Washington and this stamp is based on a impression of the Commander in Chief of the Continental Army by artist John Trumbull. Earlier as well as at the end of his life Washington ran a large farm known as Mount Vernon which is now a historical site that can be toured.

This post is about a 1928 George Washington Molly Pitcher Overprint 2 Cents US Stamp. It is overprinted with the name Molly Pitcher to commemorate 150 years since a woman nicknamed Molly Pitcher helped George Washington’s Continental Army at the battle of Monmouth giving water to the troops and loading a cannon when her husband was wounded. Her identity is thought to be Mary Ludwig who was later recognized with a reward and annual salary.
1928 George Washington Molly Pitcher Overprint 2 Cents US Stamp’s is Scott# 646 and there were approximately 9.8 million produced. This stamp is not that hard to find though high grade examples have gone for quite a bit more than the average.

Here the topic is a US Stamps 1923 Franklin 1 cent coin pair (Scott 597). It features the great Benjamin Franklin who served as first Post Master General of the Continental Congress in 1775. This was after he served as Co Postmaster General of the Colonies which he had a hand in making profitable. This type of stamp was made for more than a decade.

This United States stamp commemorates the 25 anniversary of the Panama Canal. Theodore Roosevelt appears on this stamp on the left as he had a major diplomatic role in the United States involvement with the Panama Canal. Not long after he became President, T. Roosevelt started negotiations with the French on securing the rights to the Panama Canal. On the right is George Washington Goethals who was the 3rd and longest Principal Engineer in the project.

Here we can have a glance at a 1995 William T Sherman Civil War Commemorative US Stamp 32 Cents. It has a picture of the Union American Civil War general who is remembered for torching Atlanta as well as other places in The South. He overcame being placed on leave early in that war to rise in rank to Major General by the Civil War’s conclusion.

The subject matter here is a 1867 US Postage Stamp Washington 3 Cents which one can see is used and has a fancy pinwheel type cancel. It is rose colored and has a grill which were used so the cancel ink soaked into the stamp’s paper with the idea it would be obvious the stamp was cancelled.

The topic of discussion here is a 1927 Vermont Sesquicentennial 2 Cents US Stamp # 643. It commemorates 150 years since Vermont became a sovereign state, it was founded in 1777 and this stamp was made in 1927. The name Bennington appears on it where essentially it was founded. Vermont later in the year 1791 Vermont officially became a US state.

Here we’ll glance at a 1938 Presidential Series John Adams 2 Cents US Stamp. See it in the picture below. It features a side profile of the 2nd President of the United States of America: John Adams and the years of his presidency which were 1797-1801. He was a one term President and wasn’t re-elected. This may have had to do with the way the press reacted to his passing of the Naturalization Act of 1798. He also wasn’t popular in his own party, the Federalists because he took a peaceful stance in US relations towards France. A major headwind in his reelection campaign was that he was running against Thomas Jefferson and there were serious personal attacks launched from both sides. John Adams was the first President to reside in the White House.

Here we’ll talk about a 1995 US Stamp 32 Cents commemorating the Battle of Chancellorsville from the American Civil War. The battle was a setback for the Union Army under the command of Joseph Hooker and a victory for Robert E. Lee (though he lost perhaps his most talented General, Stonewall Jackson to friendly fire). There were very heavy casualties on both sides with a death toll that exceeded more the 30 thousand (both sides combined).
